The report generated an intensive debate about the current state of affairs in Azad Jammu and Kashmir viz-a-viz its relationship with the government of Pakistan and peoples’ aspiration for the empowerment of their government and legislatures. The report was presented in Mirpur, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad and Islamabad for public scrutiny and critical analysis in the roundtables.
Over 200 notable dialogue participants had overwhelmingly endorsed the conclusion drawn in the report that the existing constitutional administrative and financial arrangements between the Governments of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir were not satisfactory and needed to be revised. Also, it was the sense of all these meetings that Azad Jammu and Kashmir does not enjoy the status that it deserves.
