Islamabad | 7 March 2016A delegation of the Kashmir Initiative Group (KIG) led by Coconvenor Ershad Mahmud, Dr. Shaheen Akhtar and M. Ismail Khan met with Dr. Radha Kumar, Director General of the Delhi Policy Group and one of the three interlocutors for Jammu and Kashmir appointed by the Government of India and Ambassador Leela K. Ponappa, ex- Deputy National Security Advisor and Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat in Islamabad.
Kashmir situation, India-Pakistan relations and prospects for the resumption of the peace process between two arch-rivals were thoroughly discussed in the meeting. It was of the view that efforts to be made to further enhance people to people contacts and intra-Kashmir dialogue to create a conducive environment for the resumption of the meaningful dialogue. Imran Khan and Mavish Durrani, civil society activists from Muzaffarabad region, also participated in the meeting.
