Over 25 lawyers of Mirpur signed an e-petition calling for the empowerment of AJK
Mirpur, September 9, Over 25 lawyers of the district bar association Mirpur have signed an e-petition calling for the empowerment of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) through constitutional reforms in the Act 1974. The petition has been launched by a non-governmental civil society organization working on the issues of the governance in Azad Kashmir since 2010.

Mr. Rashid Rasheed Chaudhary Advocate, president district Courts, Mirpur Azad Jammau and Kashmir along with Irfan Sabir Chaudhary Advocate, Liaqat Ali Advocate, Syed Ahsan Ali Advocate, Irfan Maqsood Advocate, Touqeer Ahmed Advocate, Qaisar Musa Advocate, Shumaila Barkat Advocate, Yasar Altaf Advocate, Fazal-e-Raziq Advocate, Ahmed Subhani Advocate, Muhammad Altaf Advocate, Nasir Mahmood advocate, Waseem Shah advocate, Imtiaz Hussain Raja Advocate ,Aamir Bashir advocate, Haq Nawaz Advocate, Hussain Azad advocate, Imran Fazal Advocate, Shahzad Aslam Advocate, Rafaqat Advocate, Jawad Qureshi Advocate, Syed Nawazish Abbas, Muhammad Basharat Advocate, Shazad Ahmad Advocate, Ammar Raja Advocate jointly stated that lawyers would support this petition with full zeal and fervor. Over 1061 people from different walks of life have signed petition so far including Raja former Prime Minister Farooq Haider, Abdur Rashid Turabi, Chaudhary Tariq Farooq, Chaudhary Latif Akbar and Farzana Yaqoob minister for Social Welfare government of AJK.
